'굿모닝 미스터 오웰', 1984년 백남준선생님 기획으로 전세계에 발신되었던

당시로서는 최첨단의 예술 장르였던 '비디오아트' 대형 프로젝트.

TV에서 '굿모닝 미스터 오웰'을 뚫어져라 화면을 집요하게 핥으며 새로운 세계에 대하여

셀레며 한껏 고무되었던 기억이 새롭다.

 

그 프로젝트에서 마지막 순서로 등장했던 Thompson Twins.

처음 듣는 곡이었지만 강렬한 인상을 남겼으며 이후 히트곡 대열에 올라선다.

 

그런데 이 그룹은 그 프로젝트 출연을 마지막으로 해체하기로 마음을 굳혔었다고 한다.

그러던 것이 갑자기 유명 밴드로 환골탈태를 하게 된 것이다.

그렇지만 그 이후로는 잠잠하다.

 

지금은 뭐 하고 있을까?

 

가사가 너무 짜릿짜릿하게 마음을 자극하는 그런 곡이다.
